A reminder of why I love my job
Last week a large portion of the our industry took a trip to Orlando, Florida for Night of Joy, Rock the Universe and Momentum Radio Conference. I had the opportunity to join in on the fun as BEC Recordings & Tooth & Nail Records hosted a showcase on Thursday night. With my job, a large portion of my days are spent in front of a computer sharing my artists’ stories – which I love! However, when the opportunity arrives to see my clients in action performing and interacting, I jump at the occasion. It is a beautiful reminder of why I do what I do.
Bebo Norman: This is an artist that has an amazing personality and interaction with others. I was able to see yet again why people have loved this artist for 15+ years. With his new album coming out on Sept. 28th (“Ocean”), we visited some local media in Orlando – Charisma / Strang Communications and Relevant Magazine. He performed a few songs from the forthcoming album that sounded incredible. Bebo also hosted the BEC/T&N event with great candid moments and personality.

The Museum: If you haven’t had the opportunity to check out this new BEC Recordings band, you must do it now! These guys have HUGE hearts and an amazing live sound. This was one of the first times I’ve seen them perform, and I was so impressed. They also are involved with Not For Sale - an organization to end human slavery and trafficking. Check them out!
Hawk Nelson: I go way back with this band — seeing them grow and mature has been a great experience. The band performed a brand new song for the first time at the radio showcase and wow – it is going to be a fun record if this is any indication of their direction. They performed “Crazy Love” — can’t wait for everyone to hear it soon! This album is coming out in early 2011. The band will be on tour this fall – check it out!
Kutless: With their 2009 release “It Is Well,” this band has redefined worship for their fans. The hit single “What Faith Can Do” shot up the radio and sales charts. They performed at the showcase and brought genuine worship into the room.

Thousand Foot Krutch: TFK played for the first time at Disney’s Night of Joy this year — and can I say that with the volume and intensity of their sound that night, I don’t think anyone missed this stellar live show. Unbelievable live show – seriously – if you haven’t seen TFK perform live, please do yourself a favor and catch them on their headline tour this fall “Welcome to the Masquerade” presented by Creation Festival: The Tour.

Jeremy Camp: I feel like I have been so consumed with this project (“We Cry Out: The Worship Project”) over the past few months. Reading the reviews, fan comments, and interviews, is not the same as seeing Jeremy’s live show leading thousands of fans into worship at Rock the Universe at Universal Studios. He begins the show at the piano with the song, “Give Me Jesus,” and then leads into worship with up-tempo and stirring ballads. Seeing the crowd reaction was insane! I really enjoyed being reminded how much his music impacts his fans’ lives.
