FAIR REAPPEARS ON 2/9/10 WITH SOPHOMORE RELEASE DISAPPEARING WORLD
Album Follows 2006’s Acclaimed Debut

SEATTLE, WA…January 7, 2010…Most associate the name Aaron Sprinkle with production credits in liner notes as an all-star producer (Anberlin, Acceptance, Copeland, The Almost, Demon Hunter, Kutless, Jeremy Camp) based in Seattle, WA. However for those that pay attention, he has also been a leader of Poor Old Lu and Rose Blossom Punch and more recently Fair, who released their debut album “The Best Worst-Case Scenario” in 2006 on Tooth & Nail Records. Sprinkle and team are back with Fair’s sophomore release, “Disappearing World,” set to release February 9, 2010.

With their debut album, Fair received wide media acclaim. Absolutepunk.net stated that it was “toward the top of their list for 2006”; Jesusfreakhideout.com named the album “really impressive”; Emotionalpunk.com said it was “a perfect collection of songs”; Sputnikmusic.com touted that “Fair is much better than its name.” It is no surprise that fans are ready for the second dose of this band who is known for sophisticated songwriting and structured pop song appeal.

“Musically I wanted to really tap into my influences, which are mostly ‘60s and ‘70s and lot of ‘80s too,” says Sprinkle. “And that’s really the feel of this record- a lot of very retro moments wearing those influences on our sleeve. The record’s more dynamic and exciting in some places than the last one, but it’s also more fragile and sincere in other places.”

Putting himself in the spotlight as opposed to sitting in the producer seat, Sprinkle is excited about this album more than any other record.

“I’ve never been this excited about something I’ve done before,” he promises. “I don’t question a single moment on this record and that’s a huge thing for me because normally I’m incredibly insecure when it comes to my own music. I’m so happy with every moment and I owe that to the guys in the band because it’s a great place for me to bounce ideas off of.”

Back this second round are members Erick Newbill (guitar), Joey Sanchez (drums, percussion) Nick Barber (bass) and Aaron Sprinkle (vocals, guitar). For more information visit: www.myspace.com/fair. Interviews upon request by contacting Lori Mahon.

STRONG TOWER & LONG FORM VIDEO LIVE FROM PORTLAND CERTIFIED

SET TO RELEASE SECOND WORSHIP-ORIENTED PROJECT OCT. 20TH

Seattle, WA…August 31, 2009…Since 2002, BEC Recordings’ Kutless have become a household name with radio hits such as “Sea of Faces,” “Run,” “Strong Tower,” and “To Know That You’re Alive.” This week the band crossed another career milestone as they were awarded RIAA Gold Certification for their worship-based album “Strong Tower” in addition to Gold Certification for Long-Form video “Live From Portland.” This certification is on the heels of the forthcoming “It Is Well” album set to release on BEC Recordings on October 20th.

“Having Kutless as part of our BEC roster for the past seven years has been awesome,” shares President and CEO of Tooth & Nail Records Brandon Ebel. “We knew this project was special when it released. This certification is just another confirmation that Kutless has the ability to reach thousands upon thousands with their music and hearts. The label celebrates this accomplishment with the band recognizing the huge impact ‘Strong Tower’ had on listeners across the board.”

“Strong Tower” was a special project for Kutless’ fans, and the band anticipates that “It Is Well” will resonate similarly with their listeners. The band spent much time in prayer about doing a second worship-oriented project. Drummer Jeffery Gilbert shares, “We have no doubt that this record is a result of where God has us right now, and I am excited to see how it impacts people in the near future.”

“It Is Well,” has become one of the band’s favorite classic hymns resulting in the album title. This 19th century hymn was reconstructed in true Kutless manner with respect to the history behind the song. It is said that composer Horatio Spafford penned the words to the poignant hymn as he viewed the location where his four daughters were killed in a shipwreck. It is such a powerful message, Sumrall says, “To know that despite the turmoil of the world, ‘It Is Well.’”

About Kutless
Launched by original members Jon Micah Sumrall (lead vocals) and guitarist James Mead, the band formed first as a modern rock/worship band at Warner Pacific College in Portland in 2000, influenced by Christian rock predecessors such as the Supertones as well as mainstream modern rockers like Staind, Foo Fighters, and Incubus. Kutless signed to Tooth & Nail/BEC in late 2001 and released its self-titled debut the following year, which went on to become the fastest-selling debut in the label’s history. Hearts of the Innocent marked the recording debut of the band’s new members, drummer Jeffrey Gilbert and bass player Dave Luetkenhoelter, both formerly of alt-rock band Seven Places. In 2007, Nick De Partee joined the band as the new guitarist after being with the band for over a year as their guitar tech.

This Portland, Oregon-based Kutless has emerged as one of Christian and rock music’s hottest acts. Kutless has played before more than 2 million fans in the past five years. The band has been nominated for multiple Dove Awards, earning its first for the band’s participation on the Special Event Album of the Year, the soundtrack to “Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.” Kutless’ music also has been featured in television and film. The Kutless song “All of the Words” appeared on the NBC hit TV show “Scrubs,” in an episode titled “My Bright Idea.” Last year, the band’s song “The Feeling” was featured on the Rock Band 2 downloadable track for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
